Sims 4 Nintendo Switch
Sims 4 Nintendo Switch

The best part about sims 4 is its versatility to cater to audiences of all kinds. Console players, pc gamers, and many other casual gamers have played the game due to its simplistic playstyle and simulation gameplay. However, many gamers who are exclusive handheld players have yet to see a sim game in their hands.

The sims 4 Nintendo switch debate has been going on in the gaming community for a while. That is why today, we will discuss whether it will ever come out on handheld platforms.

Since our childhoods, sims have been an integral part of our lives due to their simplicity and wholesome family gameplay. First, it rained over the console and then the pc master race; many people have experienced it. But handheld consoles have always been an issue for the franchise.

And now, people are curious if Sims 4 will make its way over to the popular Nintendo switch. The short answer is not anytime soon. The reason is that EA has many franchises, including the sims to look after and produce, plus the preparation for sims 5 will hinder the progress of a Nintendo switch game if they were to start one.

Will the Sims 5 make its way to the Nintendo switch? Most likely, yes, since the studios want to reach as many audience bases as possible for the game.

Can you play sims on the nintendo switch?

No, and we do not think it will ever release on the switch for many reasons, some of them being budgetary issues and others related to the game development cycle back at EA. But some of the more valid reasons we can think of are highlighted below.

Why will Sims 4 not come to nintendo switch?

As we discussed earlier, EA has to look after many franchises, but the primary reason might not be budget issues. The reason is that they could allocate the same resources to developing another project rather than put them in another version of the same game for a different console. However, we cannot fully expect a sims 4 nintendo switch release date anytime soon from EA.

Granted, there have been many ports for different games, but the sims is a franchise that thrives on console and pc audience bases and might not have that many switch players. That is why the studio might not want to throw away its budget on a gamble.

Now, we know that many games from the consoles have been ported into Nintendo, like FIFA 18, 19, 20, and 21, Burnout, Plants vs Zombies, and more, but sims 4 has not. And it is not graphic heavy as well; it can be easily ported. Then why are studios not making an effort? Even a graphic wavy game like Apex: Legends has been ported.

There have been reports of bad blood between EA and Nintendo since they argued to develop games for Wii U, but they did not sell well. Quite recently, an EA software engineer said, “The Wii U is crap,” which added fuel to the fire.

However, during an interview, the CEO of EA, Andrew Wilson, was asked about the certainty of The Sims releasing on the Nintendo switch. He said, “We have a lot of data that would suggest a great many Switch owners also own a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One or a PC and very often choose to play the games that we make on those platforms, even though they have a Switch and they enjoy a lot of great content on the Switch.”

Due to the animosity between the two companies and the bitter-sweet relationship, we can safely say that we will not be getting a sims 4 nintendo switch version anytime soon. Even though ports like Doom and The Witcher 3 have been successful, the studio is still a little on edge about releasing the sims 4 switch port.

The release cannot be counted out entirely, but the chances of it happening are slim, if not miraculous.

Conclusion

We do not know what the future holds for the Sims 4 Nintendo Switch release, but we can guarantee that the studio will put out many DLCs and additional content in the future, not only for Sims 4 but also for Sims 5, whenever it is released. Until then, happy swimming!
